Help shape London’s smart city vision - Be a member of the Mayor’s Smart London Board

The Mayor of London is inviting applications from across the private, public, and third sectors to join the Smart London Board.  The Board advises the Mayor and the Greater London Authority on how to use technology to improve the quality of life for Londoners and build on London’s position as the world’s best global business city.  Members will advise and play an integral part in the delivery of digital public services and the transmission of smart technologies to Londoners and businesses.

We are keen to ensure that members are as diverse as London’s communities, bringing excellent knowledge of the opportunities and challenges facing London.  Members will have a genuine passion for technology and society, and will be able to provide expert advice which optimises strategic investment in and delivery of smart cities technologies and/or improves our approaches to how cities prepare for, govern and regulate their use.

The Board will consist of up to 15 members who between them will have expertise and an understanding of city data, the GovTech and Civictech ecosystem, research and development, public service modernisation, and cybersecurity.  We also welcome expertise and experience from architecture and planning, construction, digital skills, infrastructure, the internet of things, artificial intelligence and cognitive computing, robotics, environmental services, health and assisted living, and transport.

London's diversity is its biggest asset and we strive to reflect London's diversity in all Board appointments. The Smart London Board should reflect London’s diversity so we welcome applications from all sections of the community. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.
