Support the work of London’s most impressive open spaces.
This is a unique opportunity to serve as a Trustee of The Royal Parks, securing and shaping the ongoing future of this well-loved collection of open spaces. The Royal Parks is a charity that supports and manages 5,000 acres of London’s most iconic open spaces. The estate comprises eight Royal Parks and other open spaces and welcomes over 77 million visitors every year, including those who attend the events such as summer concerts, sporting fixtures and ceremonial activities.
As a Trustee, you will contribute to the running of the charity, deciding how finances are allocated and ensuring that the parks continue to benefit all visitors. You will help to devise strategies to manage risks and conflicts, ensure resources are allocated sensibly and the organisation fundraises effectively.
Bringing your board and senior level skills and experience to support the work of the charity, you will have experience in either the public or private sector. With a commitment to fundraising and working collaboratively as a team, you will be a proactive decision-maker and will be open to serving on a board sub-committee. Experience of estate management and/or property development, particularly in the environmental/heritage sectors, is key to understanding our responsibility for listed landscapes and buildings, rare habitats and mixed amenity spaces.
There are up to six Board meetings a year together with other ad hoc activities and sub committees. While this role is not remunerated, it does offer a unique opportunity to be involved in overseeing world class amenity spaces and activities.
