HELP SHAPE LONDON'S ECONOMIC SUCCESS

Mayoral Appointments to London's Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Board

The Mayor of London is inviting applications from the business community to join London’s Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), one of 39 LEPs across England designed to bring the public and private sector together to determine local economic priorities

Business is at the heart of the Mayor’s agenda.  He is looking to appoint new members to the London LEP Board who will support and shape the development of a long-term vision for economic development in London.  As well as providing strategic oversight and advice on activities such as the Local Growth Fund, Royal Docks Enterprise Zone, European Structural & Investment Funds and London’s ‘Growth Hub’ - the public/private sector partnership which joins up national and local business support to make it is easy for businesses to find the help they need.

We are seeking candidates from a broad range of backgrounds and would be particularly keen to hear from individuals with expertise and an understanding within one or more of the following sectors - digital technology, science and innovation, creative and cultural, infrastructure and construction, retail, hospitality and tourism, and higher or further education.

We would welcome applications from across all sizes and types of businesses and will be seeking to appoint members from small business and entrepreneurial backgrounds as well as from bigger business.

Applications should show substantial current experience in the private sector, with a commercial awareness and strong and detailed understanding of the London economy and the various opportunities and challenges involved in securing sustainable economic growth.  Consideration will be given to ensuring that as a whole, the London LEP has an understanding of the key sectors and different sizes of enterprises in London’s economy.
